The Dahlia and Mark Nordlicht Foundation

Mark Nordlicht is passionate about supporting charities and organizations with which he has close ties. He does this from a place of kindness and caring, not obligation or mere means. Mr. Nordlicht’s faith is a key part of his life, and it shapes the direction of his philanthropic work, including involvement in educational organizations benefiting Israel and Yeshiva University. He is inspired by his connection to community, religion, and tradition.

The numerous charities within the Jewish community he supports include Sharsheret, SAR Academy, Kesharim, Chai Lifeline, and Young Israel of New Rochelle. In addition, Mark Nordlicht and his family have established The Dalia and Mark Nordlicht Foundation, which provides educational opportunities for less fortunate children, as well as fighting against poverty, disease, hunger, and genocide on a global scale. Mark Nordlicht and his wife Dalia are the managers of the foundation.

Charity is a practice but it is also a virtue. To be kind and caring, for some, may mean to donate to a cause that is dear to them. I have several such causes. With each charity I support, I have some sort of personal connection. Take some time to check out the organizations I support, and if you see something that inspires or intrigues you, remember what it means to truly practice charitable giving- do it not because you can or you should, but because it moves you.

According to Mark Nordlicht, charity should not be merely a practice, done out of expectation. Charity should be supported out of one’s deep beliefs. Those who randomly pick organizations to support are missing an opportunity to express their kindness and empathy by helping a cause they cherish. When it comes to donating to an organization, Mr. Nordlicht believes it is very important to understand the meaning behind the practice of charitable giving. One should feel inspired to give, from one’s heart and hearth.
